dog-eared photography
As a fellow dog lover and photographer, I know just how much your furry friend means to you. From the wiggly excitement of puppyhood to the wise, soulful gaze of our older pups, each stage of their life is precious. I’m here to capture those unforgettable moments, whether it's their crazy zoomies, that super-cute head tilt, or those chill times in the sun.
Why Choose dog-eared photography?
Because you and your dog deserve more than just photos—you deserve memories that last a lifetime. With years of experience (and a few good belly rubs under my belt!), I create a fun, relaxed environment where both you and your dog feel right at home. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, making sure your pup feels comfortable while I work my magic behind the lens.
Plus, I totally get it—dogs are unpredictable! That’s why patience is key. Whether your dog is shy, energetic, or a bit of both, I’ve got you covered.
How It Works
Get in Touch: Book a free consultation and tell me all about your dog’s quirks and personality.
Photo Session: We'll plan a session that brings out the best in your furry friend, whether at home, in the park, or at your favorite spot.
The Big Reveal: After our session, I’ll add those finishing touches to each image, bringing out the best in every shot. Then we’ll meet up—either online or in person—for an exciting reveal where you’ll get to see your dog’s portraits for the first time.

As a dog photographer in Auckland, Nicola works in a variety of outdoor locations, such as beaches, woodlands, parks, you name it! In your pre-session consultation Nicola will find out all about your pet and what you are looking for and you will decide on the perfect location together, making sure your pet's safety is paramount.
-
Absolutely. In fact, most of the images of dogs you see here were taken on lead, and the magic of Photoshop removed them without a trace!
-
This is not a problem! Nicola's pup, Marvin, is quite a rambunctious boy so she is used to working with high-energy dogs who may not remember their manners at times! Working with and owning dogs over the years has taught Nicola a lot and she understands the importance of empathy and patience when working with our four-legged friends.
